Nebraska Seward County Grassland and Wetland Parcel

Ducks Unlimited is selling a Seward County, Neb. parcel of wetlands and restored native grassland during a live auction on Dec. 12, starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Goehner Senior Center in Goehner, Neb. (Sale Flyer) The land is 154.5 acres +/- and is located one mile west and one-half mile north of Goehner, Neb. The land lies in Nebraska’s Rainwater Basin, one of the most important migration habitats in the Central Flyway and a primary destination for waterfowl hunters and bird watchers.

The property has an 8 inch diameter irrigation well and fencing around the perimeter. The property is protected with a U.S. Fish and Wildlife conservation easement and an Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District conservation easement. The easements will allow unlimited grazing at any time of the year and allows haying after July 15 of each year. The easement allows irrigation on only a portion of the property, including the restored wetland area. The buyer maintains all hunting and access rights to the property.

Auction information: The property will be sold at public auction at the Goehner Senior Community Center in Goehner, Neb. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.

Winning Bids and Terms: 20 percent down payment on the sale date with balance due on or before January 11, 2013. Ducks Unlimited will pay the 2012 property taxes at closing, based on an estimate of taxes to be obtained from the County Assessor.

Seller Financing: No seller financing is being offered. The property is offered without buyer contingency of any kind.
