Ipswich Grasslands 6

The sixth in the series of Ipswich Grasslands properties, the Ipswich Grasslands 6 is located approximately 8 miles southwest of Ipswich, SD. The tract has had both the grasslands and wetlands restored from former crop ground. The grass was restored using several native species. Scattered temporary and seasonal wetlands compose this prairie landscape in the heart of the Missouri Coteau. The Ipswich Grasslands 6 is perpetually protected with USFWS wetland and grassland easements to ensure productive habitat for years to come.

Located in prime pheasant country, the property hosts pheasants, waterfowl and deer, along with other species of mammals and birds. There are no buildings on the land.

The Ipswich Grasslands 6 is accessible off of paved Highway 12, County graveld roads and/or section line trails.


The Goebel Ranch, Ducks Unlimited's premiere research field station with an on-site waterfowl/grassland manager, is just 15 miles away.

Bid Registration: On-line bids only will start at 8:00am CST 08/14/2009 and end at 5:00pm CST 09/14/2009. Bid packages are available on-line or by contacting the Great Plains Regional Office of Ducks Unlimited.

Winning Bids and Terms: At the end of the bidding period, the person submitting the highest bid will be declared the buyer. A ten percent (10%) down payment is due within 3 business days of being accepted as the winning bidder. The balance of the bid price is due in certified US funds, bank cashier's check or confirmed wire transfer at closing which will take place approximately 30 days after end of the bidding period. Closing costs and title insurance is the buyer's responsibility. Buyer to receive all mineral rights except the rights to carbon sequestration. Property taxes will be prorated to the date of closing and paid by the respective parties at closing.

Seller Financing: No seller financing is being offered. The property is offered without buyer contingency of any kind. Have financial arrangements secured prior to registering a bid.

Property Tours: Ducks Unlimited will provide guided tours of the property at any time. Appointments must be made in advance.
